Apprenticeship Week... Taking action!

National Apprenticeship Week has been a whirlwind, and we've been learning a ton! We know how important it is to help our school leavers make smart career choices, so we've got some great stuff to share with you.

1. Top Apprenticeships in Key Sectors

First up, we've put together a list of high-valued apprenticeships in emerging, growth, and priority sectors. These are the opportunities that will give our young people the skilled pathways and opportunity to move into emerging, growth and priority sectors.

The response to this has been awesome so we’ll likely keep it open a bit longer… maybe even long term - It’s a live list with posts coming and going regularly.

2. Tackling Skill Shortages

In a recent post, I talked about the conversation with a parent that highlighted the frustrations I hear from so many of you. This week alone I’ve had 3 parents and a careers advisor reaching out in my inbox - there’s so much concern and lack of awareness and confusion of opportunity. I hear you!

I leveraged LinkedIn to raise awareness of the need to find solutions, cut through the red tape, and make it super easy for young people to get into growth sectors. Our country is facing skill shortages, and we need your Gen Z to have the future skills our industries and economy need to thrive. Check out the post here.

We are fired up to continue influencing business and industry to embrace apprenticeships to securer their future talent pipelines; I’ve been invited to join some roundtable discussions and skill groups, where it will be my priority to ramp up the apprenticeship offers companies provide to school leavers. It won’t be quick, but it will be my personal mission.
